OUR MISSION
At Corpus Nature School, our mission is to inspire a lifelong connection between children and the natural world. We believe that by immersing young minds in the beauty of nature, we can encourage children to build a bond with the outdoors that will transcend generations.
We provide an enriching educational experience that prioritizes outdoor exploration, play, and hands-on learning. Through meaningful, nature-based experiences, children at Corpus Nature School have the opportunity to:
- Explore and Discover: We offer a nurturing environment where children can explore the beauty of our natural world. Through guided and unstructured play, they develop a profound understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things.
- Face New Challenges: We encourage children to step out of their comfort zones and embrace challenges outdoors. Whether it's trying something new, navigating a trail, or building a shelter, they learn resilience, problem-solving, and self-confidence.
- Learn About Local Ecology: Our curriculum is rooted in a deep understanding of local ecosystems. Children will gain knowledge of the flora, fauna, and natural processes in our region, fostering a sense of place and understanding of our local coastal habitat.
- Acquire New Skills: Through hands-on experiences such as fire-making, fishing, wilderness survival, and plant identification children gain practical skills that connect them with the wisdom of our ancestors and lessen their dependence on supply chains.
- Reconnect with Their Natural Surroundings: In an era dominated by screens and urban life, we provide an opportunity for children to reconnect with their natural habitat. They will learn age-old practices and engage in activities that humans have enjoyed for thousands of years, fostering a deep sense of belonging in the natural world.
At Corpus Nature School, we are committed to fostering a sense of wonder and instilling a lifelong love for the great outdoors. We believe that by inspiring children to connect with nature, we are sowing the seeds for future generations to enjoy what Mother Nature has given us.
